Here at YesIBall we love uniforms. So, whenever a team announces that they have some new ones, we get extra excited and call them the best ever. Well, today the new best ever unis come from NC State. The Wolfpack released a video of their new all black football uniforms and in our (my) eyes these things are awesome.
Tulane’s speedy redshirt freshman Sherman Badie had one of the Green Waves’ longest runs in years. On Thursday night vs Tulsa, Badie broke a 90 yard run showing why the coaching staff has been bragging about his talent.
Back in March, the Rice Owls hired former VCU assistant coach Mike Rhoades as head coach. This video shows how hard the coach has been working the players. If you ever wanted a look into a college basketball strength and conditioning program, this is a must watch. You may just end up breaking a sweat.
Just last year, 4 star recruit Derrick Griffin had universities such as Texas A&M, Auburn and Miami all fighting to get his signature on the dotted line. While the Hurricanes won that fight, today Texas Southern won the battle. The Rosenberg Terry High School standout receiver has reportedly enrolled in class at TSU and is planning to play the 2015 season, which means Homer Causey will have a brand new 6’7 target on his team.
Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reported that the change was made because of academic ineligibility but also says Griffin was able to enroll because of TSU’s summer-bridge program-
“Our summer-bridge program is set up to take incoming freshman that need additional help to become college ready,” athletic director Dr. Charles McClelland told the station. “Derek successfully participated in that program which is why he is now a full-time student at Texas Southern University.”
Griffin won’t be able to suit up for the Tigers this season, but be sure that it will be a treat for TSU fans to see him in the Maroon and white.
The Houston Cougars are a few days away from opening their 2014/15 season in the brand new TDECU stadium. Yesiball.com had the opportunity to see the beautiful stadium and below are a few pictures and a video from the experience.
The Houston Baptist Huskies will be taking their talents to Bowling Green, KY to face the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky. The teams have agreed to open the 2016 season against each other, says Houston Baptist in a release.
HOUSTON – HBU has announced that its first-ever football game against a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution will take place in the 2016 season opener, when the Huskies face Western Kentucky, HBU Director of Athletics Steve Moniaci released Thursday.
The game between the Huskies and the Hilltoppers will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, Ky.
“We are very pleased to announce our 2016 football season opener will be at Western Kentucky,” Moniaci said. “This will be our program’s first game against an FBS opponent and should be an exciting trip for our student-athletes, as well as an important step in their growth as a team.”
Western Kentucky is entering its first season as a member of Conference USA in 2014, after going 8-4 overall and 4-3 in its final season in the Sun Belt Conference last year.
The Huskies will also go to battle against the Tigers of Texas Southern in the same season.
HBU has a non-conference home game against Northern Colorado scheduled for 2015, leaving two openings, then the Western Kentucky game and a home game against Texas Southern in 2016, leaving one non-conference opening.
